After more than 5 years working within the horror genre, Liverpool artist Ilan Sheady, creative director of Uncle Frank Productions and founder of the Liverpool Horror Festival is proudly presenting his work to the public in an exhibition to accompany the launch of his new book of the same name SEXY SCARY STUPID.
The exhibition includes work from Liverpool Horrorfest like Clive Barker’s Hellraiser poster (described by Clive Barker himself as one of the very best representations),Manchester’s Grimmfest, and a whole host of film and promotional projects.
Also for the first time ever, Ilan Sheady publicly discusses doing the controversial work that caused Green Party associate Stephen Delahunty to lose his job. The work, created under the alias of
Hairy Bastard, illustrated shocking poetry by Liverpool poet Janine Grafflin and a selection will finally be on public display.
The book SEXY SCARY STUPID will be available at amazon from the 29th October and a limited number of signed copies will be available at the event.
The free exhibition is at ROAD Studios, 69 Victoria street, L1 6DN from 29th Oct to 11th Nov
7:00pm to 10:00pm and not considered not suitable for children.
Frisson Comics, based in ROAD studios, will also be debuting issue #2 of Knock Knock, a horror compilation zine featuring illustration, comics and prose from creatives around the UK and beyond including from ROAD members Ilan Sheady, Lois Tierney and Katie Whittle.
Copies will be on sale throughout the show.
As an additional treat Liverpool sci-fi author Pam Bloom will be attending the opening of the exhibition with copies of her new book Whole New World[s] (the first in a trilogy) with cover illustrated by Ilan Sheady.
