ABCL1: Discover Liverpool’s Latest Must-Visit Vintage Hot Spot
Looking down Victoria Street, it buzzes with that distinct rumble of industry, once the heartbeat of Liverpool’s business district, frequented by workers before the advent of industrial suburbs and retail parks on the outskirts.
This road is not a shopper’s first stop by any means. And yet, stirring up in the foundations of Liverpool’s emerging cultural district, an Aladdin’s cave of vintage treasures is about to be let loose on the retail sphere of city centre Liverpool. ABCL1 is a hub, combining fine art and craft, antiques and fashion, and it’s ready to take off.
ABCL1 is home to the already well- established Collage Collectables and Fine Art, a vintage emporium headed by Lis Edgar; the recently-founded Caroline Corby Creations aka CCC, a purveyor of festival gear, headbands and jewellery; and let’s not forget the mysterious studio hidey-hole, Creative Wood, where inspiration and functionality intersect. It is also an open-plan public studio gallery with resident artist Matt Kilp’s interactive workshop hosting a variety of artworks for sale.
ABCL1 is a medley of eclectic curiosities that will pique the interest of many a vintage pilgrim, art lover and fashionista. Celebrate its official opening this Friday 22nd July from 18.00. Billed for the same night as the Road Studios private view of “Captured Moments”, it promises to be a real festival feel of culture and art appreciation. Don’t miss out: be part of the festivities going down at 69 Victoria Street this Friday night.
